The next game

Coming on Saturday, part one of a new Let’s Play!

I had a few aspects I wanted the next game to have; I wanted it to be a shorter game, with more of an action focus, and preferably on the SNES, just because. I wound up with something that not only fills all this criteria, but should also be fun to watch, fun to play, and is relatively obscure to boot!

On Saturday, the Internet Pedant will begin… The Firemen. This should be fun! 😀

Let’s Play The Legend Of Zelda: Link’s Awakening – part 22

Time for the grand finale! I start off by using forbidden techniques to grab a few final items, before heading to the final dungeon for the final battle. It’s all pretty final. And then I destroy the world.

(Warning, this video contains disturbing imagery, include a scene with a MAN in a BED. You have been warned.)

A better way?

So anyone who’s been following this blog… which is, as far as I can tell, no-one… Will notice I’m rather bad at keeping it up to date. Generally when I’ve made all the effort of making a video and typing up descriptions and tags and stuff on Youtube or wherever, I’m far too lazy to remember to come here and do it again.

Happily, this may be a thing of the past… I’m testing a way which should have posts be created automatically, complete with an embedded link to the video. The final part of the Link’s Awakening LP should be up tonight, so we’ll see if a post appears.

(Update: It works! :D)

Let’s Play The Legend Of Zelda: Link’s Awakening part 21

Time for the final dungeon! (Well, technically penultimate, but the next one really doesn’t count, trust me on this). I’m pretty much tearing the minibosses up without effort at this point… which is good, because this dungeon is full of them.

Let’s Play The Legend Of Zelda: Link’s Awakening part 20

The water temple in Ocarina of Time can kiss my white ass, because this is the most annoying dungeon in a Zelda game as far as I’m concerned. Apart from switches that change how you move about the level, and falling down holes being a mandatory form of transportation, there’s also the small matter of the level transforming itself when you’re part-way through. Oh, and the toughest boss in the game… although maybe I’ll have something to say about that.

Let’s Play The Legend Of Zelda: Link’s Awakening part 19

Oh hey look, it’s 15 minutes of nothing!

Well OK, not nothing. I do sorta kinda resurrect the dead, find my way to the next temple, and beef up my defensive capabilities a touch. Honestly though, if there’s a part so far you can skip… it’s probably this one. I spend far too much time getting sidetracking, backtracking and offtracking here! Still, at least next time I’ll have a better idea of what I’m doing, right?

Right?

Let’s Play The Legend Of Zelda: Link’s Awakening part 18

Time for the Face Shrine this time! This level seems to have had the least playtesting of all, with pointless “puzzles” that just waste time, a new item which, frankly, doesn’t see much use outside this dungeon, one rather odd room which looks like it should be kinda special but isn’t, and one of the weakest boss battle in the game. Oh well!

Apologies once again for the sound quality, I’m still getting the hang of the mixing equipment and got the volume all set up, but didn’t realise the audio was clipping. Better next time, promise! Intro music is ALWAYS by Kevin MacLeod.
